Sidmouth Carnival 21st september 2019
Maureen Cook asked members if they would like to enter The Sidmouth Carnival this year in the walking section. Her idea was for twelve WI members to dress as Suffragettes to coincide with the period that Sidford WI was formed in 1919.
Twelve members dressed as volunteered and were awarded first prize in their category. A team worked hard sewing feathers onto hats, making sashes, banners and long white skirts. The weather stayed dry and everyone enjoyed the walk to the sea front. The support from local residents was brilliant and our collecting buckets were filled with lots of loose change.
