AGM
The first half of the meeting was devoted to business items.
Group Meeting
The group meeting on Friday 8th May was well attended and members and visitors were treated to savories and cakes at the interval. Unfortunately we weren't placed in the group competition. The winners were Pebbleford WI, the folded book representing a tree was most imaginative. We presented a flower arrangement to the group secretary, Rosemary, as a thank you for all the work she does for the group.

Business
The date for the Centenary Cream tea has been changed to Saturday 6th June.
The cost for the streaming of the centenary AGM at Kennaway house on 4th June is £3.
The mystery trip on Wednesday 22nd July is to a National Trust property and includes a cream tea. If you are a member of the NT the cost is £10, non NT members £19.50.
Orders for DFWI calendars £3 and diaries £3.80 are now being taken. The cover of the calendar is a photo of Beer taken by Sue Cox.
There is an additional craft afternoon on Saturday 16th May to prepare the centenary decorations.
Resolution
Claire gave a very comprehensive report on the resolution that will be proposed at the national AGM.
The 2015 Resolution is:
Failing to care – assessment of need in long term care
This meeting calls on HM government to remove the distinction between nursing care and personal care in the assessment of the needs of individuals, in order to advance health and wellbeing.
Proposed by North Duffield WI, North Yorkshire East federation.
The meeting voted that our delegate should use their discretion in the National vote as the issue of funding this proposal is not addressed.
Beryl gave a report on the Spring Council meeting held in Torquay and Pat Street's decorated cake was displayed. Unfortunately the interpretation of the criteria meant that Pat missed out on 1st place and came 2nd. Jean Bridgeman and Sue Cox both came away for the event with vouchers toward a Denman break.
