Sidbury Vineyard - Rebecca Russell
Rebecca told us of how her and her partner decided on a change of lifestyle and moved to Sidbury with the intention of starting a vineyard. They were complete beginners with only 1 week of training when they started out. The vineyard is in the beautiful Roncombe valley and they now have 2500 vines planted. Their first harvest was in 2013.
The vines are of three varieties:
The wine is made off-site at Eastcott vineyard in Okehampton and they have won several awards.
After being told all about the vineyard we were able to sample the 3 different wines.

- the Solaris grape is made into white wine
- the Rondo grape is used for the Rose and Sparkling Rose
- the Seyval Blance grape is used as a blend in the Rose

Business
As of the end of February we have 82 members including 5 new members.
Nominations are requested for the roles of President, Secretary, Treasurer and additional commitee members.
Places are still available for the Spring Council meeting at Torquay on the 13th April, please see Barbara at the Tuesday 16th coffee morning.
We urgently need someone to manage the book stall at the coffee morning otherwise we will be unable to have this very popular stall.
Next month is our Birthday Meeting when there will be tea and cake.
