Farming Today A Talk By Naomi Tapp
Farming has certainly changed a great deal over the years. Naomi and her husband run a dairy farm at Awliscombe with 160 cows. These lucky cows have their own individual mattresses to sleep on and little cow wellies for poorly hooves. They shed their thick winter coats in the spring, which makes them very itchy, so car-wash style brushes are provided for grooming which they soon learn to switch on with their noses.Who said cows were dim? Naomi told us that she and her husband only get one week's holiday a year and the life is very demanding with milking twice a day and long hours, but it is a good life and she would not wish for another. Glenys Shaw thanked her for a very interesting talk.
